[Recipes] The Beta-Carrotine Protein Smoothie

The Beta-Carrotine Protein Smoothie — named for its 1-2 explosive punch of carrot juice and succulent nectarine fruit flavor — is a beta-carotene powerhouse; a carotenoid form of vitamin A that functions as extremely potent antioxidant, which helps safeguard the body against inflammatory, age-accelerating, degenerative free radicals.1

Beta-carotene is also critical for vision and skin health.23

1 full smoothie packs a massive 360% DV for vitamin A, including 11,240 mcg of beta-carotene; 25 g of HQ whey protein; 1.2 g of heart-healthy omega-3s; and an ample dose of potassium, calcium, and vitamin D; all for a svelte 260 calories.

It’s a powerful way to shoot up your body in the AM with a surge of protein, vitamins & minerals, antioxidants, and natural fructose — the type of sugar that provides brain energy — or refuel and kickstart recovery after a killer, dripping-wet, muscle-crushing workout.

And if nectarines are a little too exotic, bananas, mango, and peaches (or all 3) all work swimmingly.
