[Review] Hot Cinnamon Green Tea — The Most Delicious Tea On Earth
I‘ve always been a huge green tea drinker. Partially because green tea has a ridonkulous number of health benefits — it’s loaded with antioxidants, called catechins (specifically in the form of EGCG), which eviscerate cancer and help reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and blood clots; partially because it’s a lean machine, as it revs metabolism and burns calories through thermogenesis; and partially because it’s incredibly soothing and incites a feeling of blissful calm.
Unlike coffee or Red Bull, which, at times, can make you feel like you’re on a roller coaster ride to some weird caffeinated hell, green tea provides clean, fluid energy. The ups are instantaneous, the downs are unnoticeable.
And the cognitive boost is unreal. Like some sort of tea-chugging cyclops, the mind becomes indeterminately laser-focused, zeroed in on anything. It feels superhuman, but it’s amazing — and healthy.
I digress.
I recently discovered Harney & Sons’ Hot Cinnamon Green Tea and subsequently learned that the tea I’ve been drinking my entire life is complete crap. Most boxed stuff and even Starbucks’ Tazo line are in another, incrementally more horrible stratosphere. Lipton? Wrong conversation.
It’s unthinkably good, in a flavor zone that I didn’t know tea could enter. Un. Real.
It’s like drinking only Bud Light all through college and then gracing your taste buds with Duvel, or likewise, upgrading from a Prius to Pagani.
Imagine a spontaneous combustion of warm, spicy cinnamon, mixed with a decadent, succulent sweetness and clean finish — that’s H & S’ Green Hot Cinnamon Tea. Brewed with 3 types of cinnamon, it packs so much incredible, unparalleled flavor that you wouldn’t even fathom sweetening it further. The best part? There’s no sugar whatsoever — it’s au natural courtesy of the cinnamon, spices, and green tea. Their website even caveats:
People sometimes think we add sugar or sweeteners to this tea, BUT WE DO NOT. The sweetness comes from the cinnamon.
If you’re looking for a full-fledged out-of-body tea experience, Harney & Son’s Green Hot Cinnamon makes a fantastic option during the chilly holiday season (or a great gift, if you have enough willpower to give it away).
